July 21, 2022, the 27th BaföG Amendment Act was passed. Here is an overview of all the important changes.
- Maximum subsidy rate raised from 861€ to 934€.
- Parents’ income limit raised from 2000€ to 2415€.
- Wealth allowance increased
- up to 29 years 15.000€
- from 30 years 45.000€
- Age limit for support raised to 45 years
The BAföG (Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz) regulates the state support for pupils and students in Germany. The aim is to promote equal opportunities in education.
